Our Missionaries
In keeping with Christ's command to the Church in the Great Commission, Hudson Valley URC supports several missionaries.

Rev. Mihai Corcea
Bucharest, Romania
After graduating the M.Div. program of Westminster Seminary California in May 2016 and passing his candidacy exam in Classis Southwest US, Rev. Corcea was ordained by Christ URC and sent back to his home country Romania to plant a confessional Reformed church in Bucharest. Although there were several Romanian Reformed Churches established during the 16th century, they all died out in the 19th century, leaving the Romanian people without any established Reformed denomination.
“Biserica Evanghelica Reformata Bucuresti” (Evangelical Reformed Church of Bucharest) is a URCNA foreign mission located in Bucharest, a city of 2 million people and the capital of Romania. The core group for this church plant was started in 2011 by a handful of Christians who became Reformed by reading Reformed books and meeting Reformed people from other countries. Following Rev. Corcea’s return to Bucharest in August 2016, a small church plant was formed under the oversight of Christ URC Santee. The small congregation worships in a rented meeting place in downtown Bucharest.
Rev. Sam Perez
Grace Reformed Church: Jersey City, NJ
Sam is a native of Spanish Harlem, and was raised by Catholic immigrant parents who came to the Christian faith when Sam was a young boy. Sam came to own the Christian faith for himself in his late high school years. Sam worked as a school teacher in the south Bronx and Brooklyn before graduating from Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div.). Sam lives in North Jersey with his wife and family, and has few dreams greater than to see all of North Jersey worshipping Jesus Christ as Lord and King over all of life.

Rev. Austin Reifel
Indy Reformed Church: Indianapolis, IN
Austin Reifel grew up in Bakersfield, California. He and his wife Sharon have three daughters. After graduating college with a business degree and a passion to teach God’s Word, the Lord led Austin to pursue a seminary education at Westminster Seminary California. In seminary, the Reifel family was introduced to the URC where they were warmly welcomed and further prepared for ministry. Austin has been laboring in the Indianapolis metro since 2021 with the prayer that the Lord would be pleased to bless the planting efforts at the Indy Reformed Church.
